This clinical trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee.

About the study

This study is looking at a medication for the treatment of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). RSV is the leading cause of respiratory tract infections in infants and the elderly, and is a major cause of hospitalisation.

This medication has already been successfully trialled in 95 adult volunteers and 49 infant patients and was found to be well tolerated. This study is an interaction study, which means the medication that is being tested will be administered at the same time as one of two approved medications, itraconazole or fluoxetine (Prozac). Drug interaction studies are important as they allow us to test how the drug works in the body in combination with other medications that a patient may be taking.
