About the study

Approximately 500,000 Australians are currently living with dementia, and worldwide around 50 million people have dementia. There are nearly 10 million new cases every year according to the World Health Organization. Dementia is a condition that affects thinking, behaviour and the ability to perform everyday tasks.

This study is investigating a new potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, a deterioration of cognitive function that affects memory, comprehension, learning capacity, language, and judgement. Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common form of dementia that contributes to approximately 70% of cases.

For the initial stage of research we require healthy people who do not have any medical conditions to participate. The data acquired from this healthy participant study will be used to determine whether the medication can be trialed in patients with the condition.
